“O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith.” 1 Timothy 6:20–21
The Book named this front nineteen centuries in advance, and note the precision: not science, but science falsely so called. The quarrel here is not with the laboratory. It is with the sermon smuggled inside the lab coat.
“Yea, hath God said... six days? Surely billions of years. Surely you are an accident of chemistry. Surely the science is settled, and only fools still ask.”
How the question is asked on this front
Draw one line and this whole front comes into focus. Operational science observes, measures, repeats, and predicts: it builds your antibiotics, your bridges, and your phone, and the believer owes it no apology, because Bible men helped invent it. Newton wrote more theology than physics. Kepler called astronomy thinking God's thoughts after him. Faraday, Maxwell, Pasteur: men of the Book, doing repeatable science in a universe they expected to be lawful because a lawgiver made it.
Origins science is a different animal wearing the same coat. No man observed the beginning, no experiment repeats it, no witness testifies to it. It is a story about the unrepeatable past, accepted on testimony, which is to say: it is a faith. The trick of this front is billing the second kind at the first kind's rates, so that doubting a story gets treated like doubting a thermometer.
The Evidence · Exhibit A
Strip the terminology and state the origins story plainly, as articles of faith. Because that is what they are.
I believe that nothing became everything, uncaused.
I believe that dead matter organized itself into life,
though no laboratory has ever watched it happen.
I believe that a library of coded information wrote itself,
without an author, one typo at a time.
I believe that the eye assembled itself by accidents
that could not see what they were building.
And I believe all of this is not a faith.
Spontaneous generation was buried by Pasteur's experiments in the 1860s. The origins story requires it anyway, once, in the dark, long ago. That is not measurement. That is a miracle with the Miracle-worker deleted.

“Settled science” keeps unsettling. Piltdown Man was a forged missing link that sat in the textbooks for forty years. Haeckel's faked embryo drawings outlived their exposure by a century. The static universe, the shrinking list of “vestigial” organs, “junk” DNA that turned out to work for a living: the consensus of each generation is the embarrassment of the next. Now put the Book's record on the table beside it.

Romans 1 explains this front before it happened: “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen... so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God... but became vain in their imaginations... Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools” (Romans 1:20–22). Evolution is not where the evidence leads; it is where a man runs when the evidence leads to a Creator with a claim on him. The doctrine's chief export was never biology. It was permission.
What saith the Scripture
Job 38:4 is God's own cross-examination of origins science, and no witness has ever answered it. Ten words into the Book, the question of this entire front is settled, and every honest instrument since has found a universe that behaves like a spoken thing: lawful, mathematical, fine-tuned, and written in code. “The heavens declare the glory of God” (Psalm 19:1); the laboratory, honestly read, is one long amen.
So keep the real thing. Weigh, measure, repeat, and give God the glory: that is science with its birth certificate intact. But when a man in a lab coat tells you that you are an accident and your Book is a myth, understand what you are hearing. It is not a finding. It is the garden question with a grant number, and the answer has not changed: it is written.
