A free, purpose-built search engine for the King James text. Word counts, phrase searches, concordance work: the tool for verifying every count and claim this site makes, including the sevens.
purebiblesearch.comDocumentation of the 823,543 count and the wider pattern work: what was counted, how, and how to reproduce it. Read the method before you argue with the total; that is how honest examination works.
kjvcode.comThe Comparison Table sets the KJB beside the modern versions with every change marked. The Sevens walks the arithmetic. The Adherence Index measures fourteen traditions against the Book.
Open the Comparison TableAny faithful printing of the standard text serves: Cambridge and Oxford text editions are the benchmarks. The text is owned by nobody, so a plain text edition costs little. Buy the sturdiest one you can; it is meant to be worn out.
Then start with JohnStudy bible notes are not the Book. Even inside a King James cover, the notes at the bottom of the page are the words of men, and men drift. Read the text as the authority and the notes as a commentary that must answer to it, never the reverse.
Apps that default to modern versions. Most popular Bible apps open to a modern version and footnote the King James text with the same doubt this site documents. If you use one, set the KJB as the version and read the text, not the margins.
Anything that asks for money to bless you. The rule from Front IV applies to KJB-branded ministries too: freely ye have received, freely give. A right Bible in the hands of a merchandiser is still merchandise.
